Entertainment District
The City of Toccoa is pleased to announce that an Entertainment District overlay has been created for the downtown Central Business District. The purpose of this district is to promote economic development efforts in the downtown area and encourage visitation.
Among other things, the Entertainment District authorizes licensed alcoholic beverage establishments to sell specialty single-use 16oz cups for patrons to consume off premises on the sidewalks and within other business locations within the bounds of the established Entertainment District. This ordinance also suspends the 30% food/alcohol ratio requirement for any restaurant and eating establishment (to include taprooms, breweries, microbreweries, and brewpubs) within the boundaries of the Downtown Toccoa Entertainment District.
Specialty cups may be issued within the hours of 12pm and 10pm Monday through Saturday and 12;30pm and 10pm on Sunday.
With the establishment of this ordinance, it is unlawful for any person to drink, attempt to drink, or possess any alcoholic beverage in an unsealed can, glass, or metal container on the streets, sidewalks, rights-of-way, and/or parking lots, whether public or private. Only those beverages served by licensed alcoholic beverage establishments in specialty cups may be carried off-premises.
The Entertainment District shall be inapplicable during Harvest Festival, ChristmasFest, and Christmas Parade.
