Planning Commission

The Toccoa Planning Commission is an advisory board that reports its findings and recommendations to the Planning Department and the City Commission. It proactively evaluates and recommends changes to subdivision regulations, zoning ordinances and zoning maps as appropriate, as well as the overall planning processes utilized in the City of Toccoa, consistent with the laws of the State of Georgia.

The Planning Commission surveys and studies existing conditions and probable future developments to plan for physical, social and economic growth. The Planning Commission provides input into the Comprehensive Plan and reviews and makes recommendations for rezoning, concurrent variances and conditional use permits prior to the hearing by the City Commission.

The Planning Commission is comprised of volunteers appointed by the City Commission.
