Ethics Committee

The Board of Ethics is composed of ten city residents.  The Mayor and City Commission each designate two qualified citizens to serve on the Board of Ethics.  Each board member serves a two year term.  The Board establishes procedures, rules and regulations governing the internal organization and conduct of its affairs; holds a hearing within 60 days after the receipt of a complaint; prescribes forms, approved by the city attorney, for the disclosure required in the ordinance to make available to the public information disclosed; receives and hears complaints of violations for the standards required by the ordinance; make investigations and response to a complaint as the board deems necessary to determine whether any person has violated any provisions in the ordinance; hold hearings and make inquiries as the board deems necessary to investigate and rule upon complaints; and report its findings to the governing authority for such action as the governing authority deems appropriate.

Any person having a complaint against any member of the governing authority for an alleged ethics violation shall file in writing a verified complaint setting forth the particular facts and circumstances which constitute the alleged violation against the governing authroity.
